St. George’s College Lecture Series ”Pioneers of Tomorrow: A Knight’s Dialogue” Featuring Acclaimed Entrepreneur and Alumnus, Philip H. Wong
Kingston, Jamaica – St. George’s College is proud to announce the second staging of its 2025 Lecture Series, taking place on Tuesday, September 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at the school’s Abe Issa auditorium on campus. The featured speaker will be Mr. Philip H. Wong, esteemed alumnus and CEO of Deltana Enterprises, Inc., a prominent U.S.-based group of companies in the field of architectural hardware distribution.
Mr. Wong, a graduate of St. George’s College, brings to the series a compelling story of innovation, perseverance, and global enterprise. Born in Tahiti and raised in the foothills of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, Mr. Wong’s journey has spanned continents and industries – from aerospace engineering to hospitality, and ultimately, international business.
After earning his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Mr. Wong played a key engineering role in the development of iconic commercial aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and Airbus A300.
He later returned to Jamaica to lead major operations at National Continental Corporation before moving to the United States, where he successfully revived a family-owned restaurant in Miami—garnering acclaim from Time Magazine and celebrities alike.
Today, Mr. Wong leads Deltana Enterprises, Inc., headquartered in Doral, Florida. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a nationally recognized brand, distributing premium hardware products across the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
“We are honored to welcome Mr. Wong back to St. George’s College, not only as a distinguished Old Boy but as an inspirational figure whose life exemplifies the values of excellence, adaptability, and enterprise,” said Mrs. M. Campbell, Principal of St. George’s College. “His journey will no doubt resonate with our students and the wider community.”
This session is the second lecture in the series of three, under the theme “Pioneers of Tomorrow: A Knight’s Dialogue”. The lecture series was designed to empower our youths by igniting and reviving their boundless potential. The sessions will inspire them to dream boldly, think creatively and act courageously. The event is open to students, faculty, alumni, and the public. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
